Bhutan is hardly known to the outside world. For ages, life remained still and motionless for this Himalayan country. Modernization seemed to have no meaning for Bhutan. However, things are gradually changing these days. One sign of this change is the setting up of the first UHT milk plant by Tetra Pak India in partnership with Bhutan Dairy and Swede Fund. The UHT plant will ensure preservation and packaging of raw milks and then selling in the local market. Right now Bhutan imports packaged milks from. After this move, Bhutan even will be in a position to supply milk to some north Eastern Indian provinces where there is shortage of supply of milk.

It is a reality that the infrastructure of Bhutan is not yet up to the mark and may be that is why the multinational companies are not interested to invest here. I am not an expert on Investment but to me Bhutan is an ideal place for investment. Why? Because of 3 reasons:

1. The Bhutanese government is much eager to see foreign investment and is ready to offer incentives.
2. Bhutan is very rich in natural resources.
3. Bhutan, being one of the poorest countries in the world, can offer extremely cheap and hard working labor.
