IBM has more workers only in USA than India. According to the same source, Infosys, one of the top Indian companies reported to have 36,000 workers under its belt 2005 fiscal year. Thus IBM's drum is really beating in India at this moment.

 As Indian economy growing the demand for servers is growing too. IBM is a very strong player in this field and according to a report published in the Financial Express, " In terms of leading x86 server vendors, IBM remained at the top slot with a market share of 34.2 % by factory revenues in 2005." This market will continue to grow along with the Indian economy in the next years and this will bring more smiles in the face of IBM bosses.

 IBM's success lies in its understanding the nature of Indian market. IBM has been in India for a long time and has matured in the market. IBM will soon have another good spell in India if the Indian government takes a massive initiative to use Open Source technology for spreading ICT to the common mass. After all, IBM has invested heavily on Linux.
