This observation came not from an Indian political or business leader but from ADB president Haruhiko Kuroda and that is why it matters. He however, mentioned of two conditions that must fulfill:
a. must continue its economic reforms and liberalization.
b. must continue invest more in infrastructure development.
Both of these conditions are crucial to have the double digit economic growth for 2 decades. ADB president Haruhiko Kuroda thinks that the potential is there but Indian decision makers must be serious in fulfilling the two conditions.
All the political parties in have accepted economic reforms as a necessity but the bone of contention is often privatization of state owned organization. On other hand, has a lot to do as far as infrastructure development is concerned. Life in the top 10 cities may seem to be luxurious and glamorous with all the modern facilities and a lot of money coming from outsourcing. In the rest of the country, many people live below the poverty line with little access to basic necessities of life (nearly 41% of the population is still not literate). This is where
Haruhiko Kuroda said of two conditions that must meet to attain continuous high economic growth. Do you feel that there is any other important condition that he should have mentioned?
