 Tech giant Samsung has started to export "Made in India" mobile phone sets to Dubai. This came after a few days of official inauguration on March 7, 2006 of Samsung's Indian plant. Dubai is quickly turning into the most busy trade hub in the Middle East. Details are still sketchy but the news itself is an indication of India's growing strength in manufacturing.   

 Middle East has become one of the most attractive markets for mobile phone because in this part of the world where most people have a decent income, density of mobile phone use is not very high yet. India is strategically located to serve the Middle East market and therefore Samsung officials are hopeful that they will be able to respond quickly to the changes in the Middle East market.  "Made in India" mobile phone sets will surely have some sentimental values to the 4 million people of Indian origin who are living in Arab countries. Samsung can also cover South Asian market from too as use of mobile phone is growing at an astonishing rate in Pakistan and Bangladesh.  

 Those who are a bit skeptic about the Indian ability to do well in manufacturing should perhaps take a second look after Samsung's introduction of "Made in India" mobile phone sets.
