South Asia, China and Middle East are among the fastest growing areas for the airlines industry. The market here is very price sensitive too and that is why I cannot understand why there are not many budget airlines in these regions. Air Arabia LLC is the first and only low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa. The airline has declared that it will cover more destinations in India from next month (May 2006). At this moment, Air Arabia covers two destinations in India- Mumbai and Nagpur. The two new cities that will be covered by Air Arabia are and Kochi of Kerala and Jaipur. Thus from next month, Air Arabia will have weekly 26 flights into India.
Air Arabia has caught the attention of the passengers and the media for its extremely cheap offers. For example, fare to Kochi will start from dirham 440 (one way and excluding taxes) while a return ticket for the same destination of Air India Express is more than 2,000 dirham. Naturally, it will attract many Indians working in the Middle region.
I just have one advice for Air Arabia bosses. They should try to cover eastern part of India and also Bangladesh. It can turn into a very big market for them.
