
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is now in Germany in an official visit. Just a few hours ago, he had breakfast with top bosses of some of the leading companies of Germany. In case you did not know, Manmohan Singh is one of the most famous economists of today's India and he was the catalyst 15 years ago, when India embraced free market economy. So, it is natural, in his trip he is trying to attract the investment of German companies in India. Many foreign companies are outsourcing their jobs to India and it seems that the investment is heading more in the service sector than in manufacturing. So, Manmohan Singh and his Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath should be delighted to see that companies like BMW, Bosch and Mann are going to invest or extend their activities in India.
The investment of BMW seems to be impressive to me. The company is going to invest a huge amount of money in long term and it is going to build a big manufacturing facility in Chennai.
