The city of
Bangalore has been the key of Indian success in ICT. The success of Bangalore is so huge that it is often compared with the
Silicon Valley. However,
Bangalore 's supremacy seems to have come under challenge for the first time- at least in the survey of US-based A T Kearney. In its 'Indian city services attractiveness index', the company has found Chennai to be the most attractive destination in India for offshoring services. Financial costs, people's skills and business environment- were major points to ponder about upon which attractive index was calculated.
The success of Chennai has been credited to the continuous efforts of the past and the present government. After Chennai, Hyderabad was in the second position not
Bangalore .
Bangalore has been a bit over crowded and lacks infrastructure development. Eastern city of Kolkata (formerly
Calcutta ) has been praised as an emerging attractive destination in the survey.
This survey of A T Kearney shows the rat race between Indian cities about excelling in ICT and outsourcing. The more this competition intensifies and spread among other Indian cities, the better.
