Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG) is a famous company in customer care, human resources, and billing services. It is based in Cincinnati, Ohio of USA. Now its Infinys software has become fully operational in at Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT). Colombo based SLT is one of the leading telecom companies of Sri Lanka with a customer base of over one million business and residential subscribers. This move will reduce cost for SLT and at the same will bring more efficiency in its operations.
SLT bosses are hoping that with full implementation of Infinys software, now SLT will be able to respond to the market demand quickly and the customers will get benefited too. Convergys has supported SLT in ' Implementation and migration for over 1.2 million pre- and post-support customer services migrated to Infinys'.
This move shows that Sri Lankan telecom sector is becoming matured and the telecom companies like SLT are going for the world class state of the art technology. I am sure that SLT will only grow larger with this move.
