I must not admit that I am not an expert about cars but I know that Mercedes-Benz cars are among the most luxurious and expensive cars in the world. Its maker DaimlerChrysler is now upbeat that Indian roads can be its next track for growth. DaimlerChrysler has now presence in 24 Indian cities and soon another two cities (Indore and Agra) will be in that list. The company has even a separate website for India. Today S-Class and M Class vehicles were introduced in Hyderabad by Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO, DaimlerChrysler India.
In 2005, DaimlerChrysler sold more than 2000 cars in the Indian market. This is perhaps nothing compared to the 1.46 million units sold globally but Indian market has huge prospect for growth because of the success in Information Technology and outsourcing, many people are getting rich in India every month. DaimlerChrysler is expecting a much better sales figure from the Indian market in the year 2006 and for this it has build a solid network of dealers and support and service in various parts of the country. I think we can also expect series of promotional activities and ad campaigns by DaimlerChrysler in India this year.
