India flowing with Wind energy
According to the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), India is the fourth largest power in wind energy and among the Asian countries India is the first. Yes, India is ahead of all the Asian countries including China. According to a report, India has an overall capacity of 4,430 MW in wind energy. Of course, wind energy is a great way of getting energy without polluting the environment. On the other hand, every megawatt of wind energy produced means saving foreign currency (imported oil). However, I am not that much excited with this news because India is facing a mammoth task of generating enough power to meet the growing demand caused by the success and continuous growth of Indian economy.

I am sure that India can go further wind energy as the country has ideal climate and wind flow for generation of power through wind. What is needed at this moment is extensive research carried by Indian universities and generous funding by Indian government and the private companies.

Thank you for your comment and the link to this post. Very interesting. It seems the US could learn a thing or two from India!

Perhaps there aren't so many differences in the climate throughout India, but in the US it would make more sense to choose wind for some areas and solar for others. In some cases, perhaps even a combination of the two.

Thanks for your encouragement. Yes, the west can learn many things from Asia. About conservation of environment, Americans can surely learn many things from Asian people.
