In my earlier post today, I stated that the revenue of Infosys had crossed $2 billion in the last fiscal year (ending in 31 March 2006). This is certainly a landmark for Indian companies and I like to congratulate Infosys for it. Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies N R Narayana Murthy has talked about his vision in the media of turning Infosys into a multi-cultural organization. I was browsing through the website of Infosys and I could find the audio of the press conference and listened to the speech of N R Narayana Murthy.
Right now, Infosys is a Bangalore based company and most of the workers are from India. According to N R Narayana Murthy, Infosys is now aiming to become a truly global company. "Over the next 25 years, our desire is to become much more respectable as a truly global corporation with the highest corporate governance," Murthy said today. He informed that Infosys was looking for having a multi- cultural and multi-ethnic workforce.
I am delighted at the success of Infosys and I believe that if Infosys really wants to be a global company then it must become multi-cultural. I believe that it should start by expanding its business in the neighboring South Asian countries. What do you think?
