Nepalese King Gyanendra has at last given to the demand common mass and just a few hours ago gave a speech to the nation in which he announced to reinstate Parliament. This was one of major demands of the pro democracy opposition parties and their leaders have welcomed this announcement by the King. Shortly after the announcement by the King, thousands of people have come to the street and celebrated their victory. The Parliament will sit in this Friday. It seems that at last, there is real possibility of the crisis to end. However, I am not fully optimistic yet.
The opposition parties are demanding new election and a new constitution but the King's speech fell short on them and that is the main worry. The King had no other way but to give in as people were defying curfew. Tomorrow the leaders of the opposition parties will meet to decide on the next course of action and I just hope that from tomorrow the people can resume their normal economic activities. The common people of the country have suffered to the extreme for the last 2 weeks.
