![]() No one knows what may happen to Nepal next. Now, the political commentators are busy around the world to come up with their own analysis about the current political crisis. The King's proposal has not been accepted by the opposition leaders so far and the stalemate continues. India and USA have expressed hope after the King agreed to leave executive power to the Prime Minister to be nominated by the opposition parties. However, King Gyanendra's announcement has done little to satisfy the opposition leaders and the common mass. So, the curfew and defiance of curfew both continued today. That means more disaster for Nepalese economy.
According to a report published in the Times of India, the government is losing at least Nepali Rs.3.5 billion as a result of the continuous general strike. The worst suffering has come for the city dwellers in Katmandu as supplies of food and medicine cannot come to the city for all out general strike. For the working class people, the general strike has caused that they cannot earn their livelihood in the street and many of them are starving. Yes, the common people are suffering everyway but they want democracy with peace and stability. They are ready to pay the price today for a better future tomorrow. Let's hope that they get it.
