![]() I do not need to discuss a lot about the current political crisis in Nepal. Almost every day, thousands of people are marching in the street for democracy. It seems that Nepalese King Gyanendra is losing friends in both home and abroad on a daily basis. The nature of this blog does not allow me to focus on politics much but the only sad thing is that the current political crisis is only taking the Nepalese economy on the verge of bankruptcy. Already, the daily activites in the larges cities in Nepal (in particularly Kathmandu, the capital city) have come to halt.
The only thing that can give the government of King Gyanendra is the fact that the foreign donors have not stopped giving aid to the country. If it happens then Nepal will fall into too much misery. Nepal is a landlocked country and much of the trade is carried out with India. As a result of political violence, transport of goods to and from India has been seriously disrupted.
Even all the political problems get solved tomorrow in Nepal, the economy of the country will continue to bear the burden for a long long time.
