In my earlier post, I mentioned about the wrong perception that many people have about Pakistan. It is interesting to note that there are many non-Muslim religious sites in the country. Hashim Khan, managing director of Pakistan Tourism has recently said in Berlin that there were more places of interest for non-Muslims than Muslims in the country. Pakistan has also very rich and diversified landscape with its mountains and deserts. A good website about tourism in Pakistan is the website of Pakistan Government.
In South Asia, Pakistan has the earliest trace of the Indus Civilization. Moenjodaro and Harrappa are famous destinations for those people who love to visit historical sites. Gandhara contains the remains of Buddhist civilization. It was a famous center of learning and attracted students from different parts of Asia. Pakistan was also in the cross road in the historical Silk Route. There are some Hindu and Sikh temples in Pakistan and you can find some great palaces, tombs, gardens from the Mughal era.
Pakistan's rich and diverse natural landscape is really amazing. You can find here snow, Glaciers in the high mountains and valleys and on the other hand the desert areas of Pakistan are among the hottest in the world.
If you are interested then do not forget to take a look at the Tourist Guide prepared by Pakistan Government.
