
You may call it is a marketing strategy but to many people living in South Asia, Western Digital's (Western Digital Corp) announcement of 'WD Express' warranty replacement program in India is like a new era of customer service. Western Digital is a hardware device manufacturer and it has a strong presence in the Indian market.
Under the 'WD Express' program, when a customer will have a problem with his/her hard disk the customer will visit the website of Western Digital and register the serial number of the drive. Western Digital will call the customer to make sure and collect the drive from the home or business place of the customer within one working day through a courier service and send the replacement though a courier service within a few days.
Western Digital has also extended warranty of its products (all WD enterprise, desktop and notebook hard drive) in the Indian market to 5 years. However, when you buy a product of Western Digital, always remember to buy it from an authorized WD distributor in India
As for me, I am very pleased to see that Western Digital is paying atttention to the customer this way.
