Blogging habits that work with a Bangladeshi blogger
'Habits of Highly Effective Bloggers', this is the group writing projects at Problogger of Darren Rowse and already it has got good response from the blogging world and I have been greatly benefited by reading the blogging habits of the successful bloggers. Well, I am a new blogger who is blogging just for 3 months and I mainly write about South Asian business and East Asian business. On other hand, I am one of the rare bloggers who give all their time after blogging.
Here are some of the features/habits of mine about blogging:

1. Confidence: I believe that this is something that every blogger must have. However, I must admit that the first few days can be tough indeed psychologically for every blogger because here the competition is too much. When you work as a journalist or freelance writer, your competition is mainly limited to your country and to your field but in blogging you are against millions of bloggers around the world.

2. Knowing my limitations: I have basically just two limitations: very slow speed of Internet. I work with an Internet connection of 5KBPS and that can be quite frustrating. Second limitation I have is that I only know 3 South Asian languages and I do not know any East Asian language. Being an Asian, I know very well that knowledge of Asian languages is a must if I want to reach to the top in blogging about South Asian business. I am working on the language matter.

3. Knowing my strength: Every day, I try to remind myself about my strong features. I think my major strength is that I have over 10 years of freelance writing and journalism experience. Then, I am skilled in Internet research and I like to see myself as a tech savy person. About Asia, I have been writing for 10 years. I can afford to give more than 10 hours of my time for blogging every day.

4. Passion: If you do not have passion for blogging then you can never become successful. I do not know how much I am passionate about blogging but I know that I am deeply passionate about my topic- Asia. This extreme passion helps me to keep going and until now I have not suffered any burnout.

5. Writing everyday: I believe in it and after I started blogging for Know More Media, I did not miss writing in my blog a single day. I have taken this maxim literally and even on the day of my wedding, I wrote an entry in my blog much to the dismay of others.

6. Reading a lot: I read more than 50-100 web pages daily. I write about the latest news and analysis from the main stream media about my field and I also visit the blogs related to this field.

7. Forum messages: I actively take part in two forums. One is about blogging and the other is about freelance writing.

8. Writing comments: I write around 15-20 comments in other blogs and I try to make my comments at least 50 words.

9. Using the sources: As a freelance journalist, I always noticed that my friends, relatives and students often gave me excellent leads. I am doing the same for blogging now. I have told every one I know that whenever they find something interesting about Asian business they send it to me by mail or even call me by phone. This works for me a lot and I believe that every blogger can be benefited from it.

10. Investing time on learning: I try to give 2-3 hours of time daily in reading blogs about blogging. Problogger is one of the places that I visit almost daily and I write comment regularly here. I read about improving marketing, self promotion and writing skills too.
11. Maintaining quality:  I know that it is the readers who can give verdict on the quality of my blog but after writing one entry, if I am not satisfied with its quality I try to edit it or delete it altogether.

You are doing great. I don't know what I would do with my blog if I had that much free time. Remember consistency and content quality are the pre-requisites for increasing readership.

Reading blogs consumes a lot of my time. My motto is that one's output corresponds to the extent and quality of input. I use an rss reader.

Happy blogging!

Only if I could develop some of them!

Sounds like your are the most dedicated out of the entire writing groups short of Darren himself. May I ask how well your blogs do financially? Are you actually living on your blogs?

Great site design By the way.

Thanks all for your comments.
Rezwan, I am sure that gradually other Bangladeshi bloggers will come forward to take this seriously.
Doll, it is a matter of passion.
elamb, I am one of the bloggers of Know More Media, the best business blogging network. I am proud to be a part of it.

Razib - Thanks for your insights! I'm trying to read all of the entries to Darren's project. Writing on your wedding day is certainly a hoot! My husband is already telling me that I spend way too much time on the computer. Luckily I can respond by saying "and if I weren't on the computer I'd be doing what? Watching you play computer games!". First time in 8 years that I've thanked God for his "habit"!

Razib - You have a great site, both in terms of layout and content. Thank you for leaving the comment allowed me to find it. I'm amazed you can generate such content and do all the work you do with the internet speed that you have.

Living in the US, it's so hard to get news from other countries, and your site is definitely one that fills this gap. I also admire your commitment to learning other languages. I tried blogging in 3 languages briefly but found I could not maintain it because my skills weren't strong enough. Good luck, and look for me as a regularly returning visitor!

i like your style, thanks for sharing your tips

Razib, you're an excellent blogger and it's a pleasure working with you here at Know More Media. You deserve a much faster Web connection - even with your slow connection, you run circles around the rest of us!

Great tips...if only we were all so disciplined and committed to the art and business of blogging! Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my Finding Time and Creating Balance post! Appreciated your comments and feedback.

Great job.
Continue what you are doing.
I am a bangladeshi and working in USA.
As of late, I got interest in blogging.
I Think your dedication will motivate many others.
Keep rolling.
