![]() Bill Gates, the world's richest man is very happy that the number of H1B visa has been increased substantially (from 65,000 to 115,000, and a 20% increase in subsequent years if the limit is crossed) by The US Senate. Well, technology students and professionals in India are even happier than Bill Gates. However, it has to be approved by House of Representatives and then it will take into effect. Indian tech professionals are not waiting that long. They are overjoyed from now as this means they can go to USA again in large number.
Like them, I am hopeful too that House of Representatives will accept this bill without giving much trouble as the demand is there and US tech companies like Microsoft are lobbying very hard to increase H1B visa quota. Their main argument is that the arrival of foreign skilled tech professionals is the only way for US technology industry to remain competitive.
This increase in H1B visa is a golden opportunity not just for India but other South Asian countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. I hope that all the countries in South Asia can be benefited.
Don't you want the same?
