Haier considering opening of a manufacturing plant in India
Haier is one of the Chinese companies and it is very well known in many parts of the world. It is aggressively pursuing a policy of expanding its operations in the foreign countries and now Haier has decided that it should not miss the market opportunity of India. The company is going to open a manufacturing plant to produce mobile phone sets in India within 18-24 months. Arun Khanna, the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Haier Telecom India, today said, "Our target is to achieve a sales of 5 million handsets in India, in another 18-24 months. If we achieve this target then we would consider setting up a manufacturing unit here in India." The way the use of mobile phone in India is increasing; there is every possibility that Haier will achieve this sales target.

Haier has now entered into a strategic alliance with Tata Teleservices for its CDMA handsets. It is also contemplating on the idea of software development research in India so that it can address the Indian market more seriously.

The continuous growth in Indian economy has made the Indian market a viable option for international companies to open manufacturing plant here. I guess in the next budget, Indian government will offer a number of opportunities for foreign investors who want to set up manufacturing facilities in India.

It is very nice to see that some multinational companies are trying to use the indian market for the promotion of their products. This time Haier is alos interested to enter in the Indian market with its Mobile sets and they may also set a manufacturing plant if they become succeed in its earlier sells. This company has already set an business relation with Tata, another big company in India, and this relation proves that Haier has a long term planning towards Indian market. You are right, in deed, that Indian government will seriously think about these companies who are intending to set manufacturing plant in India and there will have some interesting offer for these companies in the upcoming budget of India.
