Compared to western fashion designers, Indian designers are way behind and Indian designers have not been able to create any major impact until now outside of India. Well, this is going to perhaps change from next month when the celebrity Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra will open his first store in Dubai. Manish Malhotra is collaborating with Saif Belhasa Group of Companies of UAE and the project would cost nearly Dh 2 million. Dubai and the Middle East have a significant Indian population and you may wonder that it is a safe bet for Mr. Malhotra. No, it is more than that. Mr. Malhotra will present designed clothes for the Arab and the Western people in addition to his designs for the Indians.
I am sure that many observers will watch very closely if Manish Malhotra can successfully attract the Arab and the Western people in Dubai and the rest of the Middle East. Well, if designing for Michael Jackson means anything then you can easily put your money for the success of Manish Malhotra.
Depending on the response in Dubai, news stores will be opened in Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia in near future.
