![]() Like neighboring India, Pakistan is also getting serious about alternative energy sources. Pakistan government has set up Alternative EnergyDevelopment Board (AEDB) to increase the contribution of alternative energy in the country. Actually, the target is to have '10% share of RE in the energy mix of the country.' Pakistan government has even prepared a Policy for Development of Renewable Energy. Fuhrlander-Germany and Access Energy Inc. USA have agreed to produce megawatt class wind turbines in Pakistan. The German company would transfer technology and thus high quality wind turbines will produced in Pakistan.
Besides wind energy, Pakistan can generate power through solar energy too. To know about some of the products developed by using alternative energy in Pakistan you can visit this web page of AEDB. I wish that Pakistan government allocated more fund for research and development of alternative energy and encourage people to use alternative energy more.
