i've just notice the Korea's problem by reading this. Singapore also has same problem since their women prefer career than family. But I think Korea's is worse than Singapore.

anyway are you talking about south or north Korea?because two of them have different economic power. The south one is better than their sibling in north.

Korea ( south ) is growing faster in many industries ( Samsung, Daewoo, Hyundai, etc ). But , I think its not easy to learn their language, since their alphabet is different ( like chinese, japan or thai )

I am talking about South Korea of course. Actually, officially, its name is Republic of Korea.

I hadn't thought of this, Razib. Nice idea! And I am glad that you and many other South Asians speak English, because it is such a popular worldwide language, especially in business. I am grateful to know how to speak Spanish, because so many Spanish-speaking people are constantly moving into the United States, where I live. It's always important to learn languages that will help you contribute more to the world.

Yes, it is a serious issue that Korean youths like the Japanese are not interested to get married and have kids.Korea is a developed country but there are not too many Bangladeshis. However,as a developed country Korea has lot to offer to Bangladesh. I think Bangladesh should encourage the practice of Korean language.

Don't fear the Korean alphabet. It's the only invented alphabet in the world -- fairly recently too. It's probably much easier than others because simple rules apply.
(I haven't studied it yet; I'm busy with Russian at the mmoment.) An alphabet like Chinese seems very difficult because of the long history of development.

Does anyone know of any south Asian businesses or communities in Seoul or Korea? Is there a migrant community in any city in Korea that has these services? I am looking for restaurants, beauty salons, etc.

I think It is time now for south Asians to apply birth control mechanism on their region, because, I have been traveling around the world,Where ever I reached I found lots of South Asians,There are some regions especially middle east where the services and contributions of south Asian workers to the economy always go unappreciated,In the last summer hundreds of labour were arrested and deported from UAE after they made strike. on the other hand, the Salaries paid to south Asian workers in the gulf region are much less as compared to others, this is unfair and prejudized treatment of the South Asians,It is also damage to their reputation.
