Will IBM shift to Asia?
The title may cause you to think that I am trying to shock the readers. Well, I admit that in the context of today, this title is most probably a way of getting the attention of the readers but I am thinking of a time after 10 or 20 years. And, I strongly feel that after 10 or 20 years, IBM will shift its (almost entire) operation to India or China. I feel this way because of two reasons. The number of workers of IBM in India is growing very rapidly. For example, IBM had around 9,000 workers in India and now this number has increased to 38,500. Most of these workers in India are related to software related works. On the other hand, IBM has nearly 7,000 workers in China and most of them are in manufacturing related activities. That is why; I am a bit confident that in the long run, IBM bosses will seriously consider shifting its operations to Asia.

The second reason is even more important. Until now, USA is the main market for IBM and other technology companies. By 2020 (or some later), this scenario will dramatically change. Thanks to the continuous high economic growth in India and China and many countries of Asia, Asia will perhaps replace America as the major market of tech products. China is now one of the largest markets (in fact 8th largest) for IBM while in India business for IBM increased more than 60% in the last one year.
Michael Cannon-Brookes, vice president for business development in China and India said to Reuters, "Five years from now these two markets will be even more important than they currently are for the company. The markets themselves are growing very rapidly and they remain two major engines of growth for the world economy in 5-10 years."
Well, it is my idea that IBM will shift its (almost entire) operations to Asia after 10 to 15 years.
What is your idea about it?

well thats true that market will move to Asia, especially China. China is good for manufacturing and for marketing, the worker is cheap.

China's big population will lure many companies to set up their business there.Even soccer club is trying to set up their business in China ( Real Madrid, Manchester United and the last is Barcelona )

China will be the golden land ( US has been called this way at 1800 )

Yes, it's very much possible and it's good for the development of india.

Cheers, Rohit
