Darren Rowse in his Problogger has started another writing group project called 'Blog Goals' and so far a number of bloggers have submitted their writings. If you are a blogger then I strongly recommend you to participate in this writing project or at least, visit the link and read the submissions. Now, I am writing my goals for blogging.
I started professional blogging for Know More Media Network on 22 March 2006 and thus I have an experience of just 78 days (11 weeks). I am from Bangladesh, one of the third world countries and what I can touch is that the vast majority of the professional bloggers are from the rich developed countries of Europe, North America and Australia. And often, it is very easy for them to build network as they can find bloggers in their city or state much more frequently than I can find them in the whole continent of Asia. Here are my goals for the next 7 months (until the end of 2006):
Give more time to blogging: These days, I give 8-10 hours to blogging and from now I will try to give more than 10 hours everyday and thus every month, I wish to give at least 300 hours to blogging.
Learn one language of Asia: Since I write about South Asian business and Asian business, knowing any major Asian language is a plus for me.
Try to improve in Technorati ranking: Right now, my blog has Technorati Rank: 14,260 (2,085 links from 140 sites). Well, nearly 40% of the links have come from Know More Media Network but I am happy that my blog could attract link of more than 80 websites outside of Know More Media in just 78 days. The best way to get more links is to write quality posts and give more time and effort and do some more research and I am going to do that from now. I want to maintain the average of getting one link from a new website a day.
Write more comments: This is one area I really wish to improve. By writing comments everyday, I have not only seen my hits to improve but also many other bloggers have found my blog and linked it. So, I wish to write 30 comments per day in other blogs. Right now, my average is 15-20 comments a day.
Get more hits: This is one area I am less worried now. This blog has got a Google PR 5 and I am sure that by the end of this year, it will have a PR 7 or at least PR 6. These days, I get around 100-150 hits per day and I am hopeful that by the end of 2006, I will have nearly 500 hits per day.
Increase the number of interviews: So far, I had done only 3 interviews and this is one area I want to see substantial increase in the coming days. I want to publish 1-2 interviews every week from now.

Incredible. You are a success, sooner than you think, notwithstanding the handicaps of Third World.
