I found the news first in Darren Rowse's ProBlogger that Google was hiring for Adsense. In this entry, he gave a link about International jobs and after following the link, I could find that Google was hiring in South Asia too. The posts that Google is hiring for South Asia are:
• Sri Lanka Country Consultant
• Technical Account Manager - South Asia
• Technical Solutions Engineer (Partner Reliability Engineer) - South Asia
So, even Google has realized the potential of South Asian market too. Until now, Google and most other tech companies have remained focused on the Indian market only. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have a combined population of more than 300 million and all the governments of these countries are now patronizing their IT sector.
I am happy for Pakistan and Sri Lanka as Google is going to have its presence in these countries. However, I would surely like to see hiring for Bangladesh too. And, nothing will give me greater satisfaction to see that Google is supporting South Asian languages in its Adsense program.
It is a very good news that google is focussing on other South Asian countries like Srilanka and Pakistan for hiring poeple. It would be very realistic decision if google focus on Bangladesh considering its pragmetic ICT growth as goernment has also taken thsi sector very seriously.
