I feel that Robert Scoble's leaving Microsoft has literally taken blogging to the next stage. Scoble is talking about the power of new media in his blog and recently in a post he said, " Ballmer should not listen to his PR team and instead should live the blogging way." I have the same advice to the South Asian companies. India may have emerged as the outsourcing super power but Indian big IT companies are yet to realize the potential of blogging. Like Steve Ballmer, they are still totally dependent on their PR team and have yet to use start to 'live the blogging way'.
I feel that blogging can play even a more important role for South Asian companies than their American counterparts. The concept and practices of customer relationship management (CRM) are yet to become matured in South Asia. However, gone are the days in which you could ignore your customers and just depend on your PR team. It is now the age of free market company even in South Asia and if customers are not satisfied then they can easily switch to another company. Blogging is the best platform for direct interaction with the customers and blogging can become a powerful marketing tool too. So, I wish that the bosses of major South Asian companies take notice of Robert Scoble and start blogs.
What is your idea about it?

The way Asians do business is different from that in USA. We don't like changes much and much persuasian is needed before we upgrade or implement anything that involves money. Its also a waiting game and companies like to see successful stories before they implement one
