![]() Nokia seems to be enjoying a good time in India and the company has been trying to strengthen its position in the Indian market in the last few months. Motorola Inc. is surely worried about the success of Nokia and Motorola bosses have realized that Indian market was too attractive to let it go. So, Motorola has decided to set up a manufacturing plant near Chennai with an initial investment of $30 million and it may be increased to $100 million gradually. When this project is implemented, Motorola will produce about 1 million mobile phone sets every month in India.
If Motorola acts quickly then it might be just salvage its loss to Nokia in the Indian market. Nokia is now the number one company in the Indian mobile phone market which has a user base of nearly 100 million. To Motorola bosses, I have just one advice- Act now or never.

It would be vey good for Motorola if they could be able set up a manufacturing plant so that they can be able to introduce their sets with a less price. People will definately rush on to Motorol sets as Indian market is a proce seneitive market. What is mor,e Motorola has to have a long term planning if their bosses want to get a long term profit from the Indian market.
