I found this news in a Pakistani blog with the title, 'Made in Pakistan Footballs in FIFA World Cup' and it was nice to know that footballs made in Pakistan will played in World Cup Football 2006. It shows that Pakistan is gradually making its impact in sports goods industry. Tomorrow, FIFA World Cup Football 2006 will start in Germany but there seems to be hardly any enthusiasm in Pakistan. Pakistanis are crazy for cricket and hockey. Pakistan lifted the title of World Cup Cricket in 1992 and in hockey they have performed consistently in the world stage for the last 5 decades. In contrast, Pakistan has hardly any achievement in football even in the South Asian level.
I checked the sports section of the famous Dawn Newspaper's internet edition and I could not find anything that reflected the football craze that is visible in another South Asian country, Bangladesh. The only thing to get any satisfaction about Pakistan is the fact that Pakistan Television (PTV) is going to telecast 64 matches of World Cup 2006 live.
