Suzuki Motor Corp (SMC) bosses are now very happy with the performance of their car Swift in the Indian market. Swift was launched in India one year ago and in the opening year it has crosses all expectations. SMC's subsidiary, Maruti Udyog Ltd, is producing the car in India and in the last one year 61,200 units were sold. The initial expectation was 50,000 Swift cars might be sold in the Indian market. Right now this car is produced and sold in four countries- Japan, Hungary, India and China. This car is available in 74 countries. I think that Suzuki should take an initiative to promote this car to the other South Asian countries strongly. Since, this is a small and inexpensive car it has the potential to attract the consumers of every South Asian country.
The huge success of Swift is a clear indication that Indian market is ideal for small and inexpensive cars. Those car companies who have not yet entered or taken the Indian market seriously should learn this lesson from observing the success of Swift cars in India. Small may not be posh and classy but small is cheap, inexpensive and affordable for Indian middle class.

Swift? well this one is a hit too in my country. Suzuki promote it well, they are using many stars to promot it. It think it can compete will other brand in Asia.
