World Cup Football 2006: Support Argentina and drink tea 33% Cheaply
I found this interesting news item in a Bangladeshi Bangla newspaper. Rafiqul Islam, a tea seller in Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka normally sells a cup of tea for 3 Taka (1 Us dollar= 70/71 taka) but if you are an Argentina supporter, he will not take more than 2 taka from you. In his tea stall, he has a black and white television set and every night, many rickshaw pullers, street vendors and labors gather together to enjoy world cup matches. His business is going very well and normally in Bangladesh in such cases shopkeepers increase the price of their products to cash in to the growing demand. Thus, Rafiqul Islam is a bright exception and whoever comes to his tea stall and informs that he is supporter of Argentina in World Cup Football 2006, Rafiqul Islam gives 33% discount. He does not investigate whether you really support Argentine football team or not but he gives you 33% discount. There is no gimmick but it came from pure passion for football.

So, if you are an Argentina supporter then consider making a trip to the tea stall of Rafiqul Islam in Dhaka and drink tea 33% cheaply as much as you want and let me know your experience.

interesting

What a nice and strong attraction for football. Here, 1 tk does not make the proper sense as in Bangladesh earning 50 tk is very hard for a labor. Here, Rafiqul Islam has done a good effort giving an exceptional offer to his customers. The most important thing is that he does not want to prove whethewr a person is really supporter of Argentina or not.
Thank you for your excellent article.

That is what they call "A Time to Make Friends."

wow!

Yes biplob, sacrificing one taka is so significant to working class people in our country.

I'm living just 1 (yes one) mile close to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.Hundreds of thousends are gathering for the matches in front of a huge screen. It's amazing!!! People from every corner of the world are partying happily together. It's really wonderful to watch. I guess despite all the patriotism for the particular nations it's a uniting party.

IF YOU'RE ABLE TO COME BY FOR THE FINAL. JUST DO IT. IT WILL BE CRAZY.

Believe me I have seen already 7 Love Parades (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loveparade)
in my backyard.
