![]() In the last post, I wrote about the lack of enthusiasm among the Pakistani people regarding World Cup Football. However, for Nepal, it is just the opposite. Nepalese people do not mind at all that their national team is no where near the Asian standard in this game. Sale of football related items has increased a lot in the country ahead of World Cup Football. Many bars and cafes have arranged giant screen projectors for their customers. However, more than football fans in Nepal, owners of advertising firms in Nepal are celebrating the arrival of World Cup Football 2006 as they have witnessed a boom in their revenue:
"It is notable that the Nepali advertising business which generally has annual transactions worth 1.5 billion rupees is expected to have made a transaction of 30 million."
I came to know from another blog that many Nepalese are die hard fans of Maradona and Argentina just like Bangladeshi football fans. So, if Argentina can reach semi final or final, World Cup Football is going to generate a huge amount of revenue for many people in Bangladesh and Nepal.
Nepalese advertising industry has suffered a lot in April due to the political crisis. I am happy that World Cup Football 2006 is helping to boost this industry.

Yeah, I hope the world cup football will be a big relief for my fellow countrymen. After witnessing the never ending bravado speeches of the Maoist, commentaries on the plays Ronaldino, Rooney, and Messi will be a very welcomed break.
Another thing - Brazil are equally, if not even more popular than Argentina in Nepal. You will, if you go around Kathmandu, see flags of both countries on top of the homes of the supporters.
It's only India we refuse to support. Any sports. Even Pakistan, if they can beat India, can be our heros.
I’m very exciting for today, If Rooney is fully recovered, of course he should play in the group stages.what do you think? How about tomorrow?
Anyway,Thank you for your blogger about world cup and By the way,I’d like to exchange message with you,and nice weekend

Perhaps football is the only game which has an unique popularity over the world. Nepal is also getting its warm attraction. It is also amazing that though Nepal has a lot of internel problem their people are enjoying world cup craze with a great enthusiasm. Moreover, football is going to make some extra profit in their advertisement sector and it is another positive aspect of world cup.
Thank you for your excellent article.

Let us hope that their political crisis wouldn't ever happen again and that World Cup will give them more revenue.
FIFA World Cup is really making a huge impact here in Asia, even here in the Philippines, news channels try to mix it in their programs trying to target audiences that are mostly basketball enthusiasts. I'm not pretty sure if it will help my "free-stylin" country men join the wave of FIFA World Cup craze.
