5 Things AMD should try Now in South Asia
Intel bosses are now too much preoccupied with 'Intel Tsunami'. So, AMD is now in a good position to consolidate itself in the market. However, wreaking PC sales is a matter of worry for AMD too. That is why I feel that ADM should take South Asia very seriously. Right now, South Asia has perhaps the fastest growing market in terms of PC sales. This growth is not only taking place in India but also in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. So, I am suggesting five things that AMD should try to implement in South Asia. Here are the five tips for AMD bosses:
1. Massive Media Campaign: AMD is far behind than Intel in terms of media campaign in South Asia. Intel provides regular ads to cable TV channels as well as mainstream newspapers and computer magazines. It is a reality that AMD cannot afford to spend that amount of money like Intel. My suggestion for AMD is that it should at least try to cover the computer magazines very well.

2. More direct promotion: AMD should hire some marketing people in India to carry out direct promotion of their products to Indian companies. Secondly, AMD should carry out some road shows to demonstrate its products.

3. A giant central Store: AMD should set up one very big central store each in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This will increase the visibility of AMD as a brand in these countries.

4. More dealers: This is one area; I really wish that AMD could improve. Intel is doing very well in this field as they have many dealers in South Asia. That is why, Intel products are available in almost all the cities of South Asia but AMD products are mainly available in larger cities. AMD should offer more incentives to dealers.

5. Better servicing: Since, Intel has the largest market share in South Asia, many hardware technicians try to be skilled about servicing of Intel products. That is perhaps why; second hand Intel products have an attractive market in South Asia. AMD should go one step further and provide training for some hardware technicians in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
