10 Most amazing things about World Cup 2006
World Cup Football 2006 is almost coming to an end. In this blog, I have tried to cover different aspects of World Cup 2006 for the last one month and 2 days ago; I gave a suggestion to FIFA about adding 4 extra matches in the future world cup events. This idea gave a lot of traffic to this blog but did not go well among the readers. Many people felt that it was a bad idea. Well, I am not disappointed by it as I know that I am not always right. Here, I have made a list of 10 amazing things about World Cup Football 2006. I would surely like to know your view about my list. If you have anything to add please do it in the comment section and if I have enough response then next week, I can cover all your ideas in a new entry in this blog. Here is my list:
1. All the favorites got eliminated and in the final we are going to see two teams that very few experts hoped to see.
2. No South American team in the semi final after many years.
3. No Asian team could enter the second round.
4. Record red cards shown in 2006 event and the match between Portugal and the Netherlands saw 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards.
5. So far no notable crowd problem or violence.
6. Argentine team presented us the most enjoyable game by defeating Serbia 6-0.
7. Except Ghana, African teams disappointed us.
8. Officials website of FIFA World Cup broke all records in terms of traffic and page views.
9. Thousands of blog entries have been written on World Cup football- something we did not have in 2002.
10. World Cup managed to dent in the popularity of Cricket in South Asian countries and has created some for the revival of Football in South Asia.
11. BBC World Cup Blog. Yes, this is really one of the most amazing things of this world cup football. So, it is not ten amazing things anymore but 11.

I have arranged the list in random, not in terms of importance.

Amazingly, the consecutive streak has ended of Brazil and/or Germany participating in every World Cup Final since '82!

"10. World Cup managed to dent in the popularity of Cricket in South Asian countries and has created some for the revival of Football in South Asia" I doubt this one becuase this WC fever will end in South Asia after the final. As far as cricket is concerned it is played and above all seen in this part of the world around the year. Second cricket WC is due next years which I am sure would frip the South Asian nations even more than the football WC becuase their teams would be participating in it.

It is really a amazing list about football. I have to admit that it is full of information based on ICC World Cup 2006. If anyone find something differnt to know about world cup, they can read this article and get some information about it.
