Diwali is one of the major festivals of Hindus in India. This festival is also known as “Festival of Lights” which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. It also has a big contribution in Indian economy, during the festival Indians buy golds, sarees, crackers and various other products for giving their favorite ones as gifts or for individual purpose. I must admit that Microsoft has chosen a good time to launch their Xbox in India.
Xbox 360, the most popular video game console produced by Microsoft will be in India by October. According to the report published in Mumbai Mirror on Tuesday, Microsoft declared that Redington India Limited, a 5 billion dollar company will be the sole distributor of Xbox in India. The corporate head office of the company is situated Chennai. Under the agreement with Microsoft, Redington will distribute and provide servicing for the gaming console. The company is looking forward to set up fifteen retail stores in seven cities. Microsoft country manager Mohit Anand also said that twenty five top games of Microsoft will be available in India.
As the economical condition of the Indians is flourishing, they are spending more money on buying various products. Now days, in big cities of India lots of shopping malls are being built. Huge population and increasing buying capacity has been attracting many foreign companies in India. America’s most famous retailing company Wal-Mart is also planning to set up their branch in India. I am very hopeful that Xbox will have a good business in India in this Diwali.
