Hrithik & Rakesh have done it again! The new release of this father son duo, “Krrish,” did a great business in box office. Hrithik’s first movie “Kaho na Pyar Hai,” which was directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, was the biggest hit of 2000 (it’s my favorite too. I became a Hrithik fan after I saw this movie). “Krrish” was released in August and immediately it entered into UK top chart. Until now, it collected £210,499.
Another great news is that the movie was released in Nepal and it did a very good business. I am quoting from the report published in India eNews:
“Six years after he was turned into a villain overnight with his films banned in Nepal’s theatres, Bollywood’s new superman Hrithik Roshan has conquered the kingdom again with his new blockbuster ‘Krrish’.
Released in Nepal on June 23, ‘Krrish’ is still on for an unprecedented full month.
Gopi Krishna Movies, the multiplex theatre in the capital that was the first target of the ‘Hrithik Roshan’ riots in the Himalayan kingdom, is now laughing all the way to the bank, wiping out the staggering loss it had incurred earlier.”
Until now, the Nepalese banned Hrithik Roshan movies in their theatres. In 2000, Hrithik Roshan, in a Star TV interview said that he hated Nepal and the Nepalese. This incident created serious agitation among the Nepalese students. They destroyed movie theatres in Nepal which were showing Hrithik’s movie.
Mr. Roshan is not alone in regard to making bad remarks on Nepal. Other famous Indian film stars like Dharmendra, Madhuri, Nanda made remarks which created problems between Nepal and India. Madhuri did not know that Nepal was a different state. She thought that it was a part of India. Later, she apologized for her remarks.
In the present day world, entertainment plays a big role in the field of international relations and country image. Due to Bollywood movies and music, India has built up a good image in abroad. Indian music is not only popular in India but also in Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh as well. I think this event should be a lesson for Indian actors and actresses. They should not say anything that derogates not only other country but their own image as well.

Wow, Hrithik Roshan said that?!! Why? Did he give a particular reason? What did the Nepalese ever do to him for him to 'hate' them?
Hate is such a strong word...
