![]() Online gambling is a big business. How big? According to this website, online gambling is more than a $12 billion industry. There are many people who are not fond of online gambling. In fact, online gambling may become very addictive and may lead you to serious financial disasters. And Kings and queens stay away from it fearing negative publicity. Well, at least, one king is not afraid of gambling openly anymore.
Nepalese King Gyanendra gambled too much in politics in the past few years and at first he won everything. He captured total power of Nepal but then he lost almost everything because of a pro-democracy movement that took place on April 2006. After losing in the political gambling, Gyanendra became too much depressed and started to seek relief elsewhere. It seems that he has found his ideal diversion in online gambling. He is spending a lot of time these days on online gambling. According to media reports, King Gyanendra often plays until 3 AM. Since, he is entering the details of his international credit cards, his gambling was easily revealed. Poor! The royal servants. They cannot sleep until the King plays. They have to serve him with snacks and drinks.
So, it seems that online gambling is getting a royal status after all. Well, in South Asia, Nepal has the most liberal attitude towards gambling because of the fact that tourism plays an important role in the Nepalese economy. However, Nepal is a very poor country is it is a pity that King Gyanendra is wasting the tax payers money in such a terrible fashion. On the other hand, many people in Nepal may feel some happiness that the King is busy with online gambling instead of destroying the country's future. After all, King Gyanendra and his corrupt cronies did everything in their capacity in the last few years to destroy Nepal. So, online gambling is perhaps a much lesser evil act.

If I were a king, I can't imagine myself sitting around gambling on the Internet. That's just absurd. And he's using taxpayers' money to do it!
