Bollywood, the Indian cinema industry is now considered to be the second biggest film industry in the world after Hollywood. Aishwarya Rai and Julia Roberts are the two top ranked actresses of Hollywood and Bollywood. In this entry, I have made an attempt to compare them.
Aishwarya Rai, the actress turned model, is the one of the most beautiful women and one of the highest paid actresses of Bollywood. She became “Miss World” in 1994. Born in 1973, in South India, her father was a marine engineer, Krishnaraj Rai, and mother Vrinda Rai, a writer. From childhood Aishwarya Rai was a very bright student. She was pursuing her studies in architecture and aside studying, she was modeling. The “Miss World” contest in 1994 brought a big change in her life.
Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Smyrna, USA in 1967. Like Aishwarya, she did not have a “BIG BANG” start through winning any beauty contest. She studied in Journalism. When her brother became successful in Hollywood she decided to try her luck in acting and her first big break came in 1988.

- The first interesting thing about these two top actresses is that none of them ever thought of becoming an actress.
- Aishwarya’s favorite subject was Zoology. She wanted to study medicine but could not study. Surprisingly, Julia wanted to become a veterinarian but could not become one. - Another surprising fact, Julia Roberts is a big fan of Aishwarya Rai. According to her Aishwarya is the most beautiful women in the world and she is more beautiful than any Hollywood actress. What does Aishwarya thinks about Julia? Good question and the answer is I do not know.
- In terms of bad luck, these two actresses share the same fate. In beginning of her career, Julia auditioned for soap operas but could not get any chance. Aishwarya, like Julia, in the beginning of her career auditioned for voice-dubbing for a television serial but did not get chance.
