If any body is told to name the top ten cola producers in the world then there is a 100% probability that the name “Coca-Cola” would come up first. Served in more than 200 countries, definitely it is the most popular soft drink in the world. Many allegations were made against Coca-Cola since the 1920s. After browsing the net, I have found some major allegations. Most of these allegations are about the use of hazardous materials in Coca-Cola products and the negative effects on human health.
Another allegation is that Coca-Cola contains coca leaves. In the beginning, cocaine was used in Coca-Cola and now coca leaves. It is considered as a drug in US but Coca-Cola Company imports eight tons of coca leaves per year from South America. Coca leaves, if chewed naturally, would not possess any problem of addiction but the processed cola leave is a drug.
In 2001, Coca-Cola tried to persuade people to drink Coca-Cola instead of water. They started with restaurant owners. “Olive Garden Restaurant Chain” accepted their offers. However, too much of drinking Coca-Cola could cause various chronic diseases. Moreover, diseases like blood acidosis, kidney stress, immune system suppression, mood swings can be caused by drinking too much Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola causes cavities. It can cause high bacterial growth in teeth.
The most damaging allegation against Coca-Cola in India was brought in 2003. The Center for Science and Environment , an Indian non-governmental organization, conducted a test on the products of Coca-Cola. In the result it came out that Coca-Cola produced in India contains highly toxic materials which includes lindane, DDT, Malathion and Chlorpyrifos. These are pesticides and injurious to human health. They can cause cancer and the break down of the immune system. Researchers found out that Coca-Cola contains 30 times more the level of pesticide residues permitted in western countries. CSE actually conducted the test on the products of Pepsi and Coca-Cola and allegations were brought against both the cola giants in India. Following the allegation there was a 15% downslide in the sales of Coca-Cola. After this allegation, in 2004, the Indian Supreme court ordered Coca-Cola Company to label its products that warns the consumers about containing harmful pesticides. In 2006, in August, the same organization again came up with a new report of Coca-Cola and Pepsi products containing harmful pesticides and this time the reaction was far more serious. In Kerala, Coca-Cola and Pepsi were entirely banned. In six other states it was banned partially
In this writing I have focused only on the allegations brought against Coca-Cola but such allegations were more or less brought against other soft drink products. If you browse the net to know the negative effects of soft drinks on human health, you would find numerous websites containing quotes of various specialists and doctors and description of health problems of normal people. However, Coca-Cola has always denied these allegations and tried to prove that their products are safe. Coca-Cola should come up with a new slogan now, "Drink me I am safe."

Too much softdrink in the body will take its toll when you get older, seriously.
