10 Indian Female Super Models
Earlier, I wrote about male Indian supermodels. Now it is time for female supermodels. Here are some of the top female super models of India:

Aishwarya Rai:

Obviously, this name will come first. I do not mean to make others look bad, but when I say that this blue eyed woman has changed westerner’s perception about Indian film and modeling industry, I think, you would very much agree with me. There are many people in Europe and America who do not know any actress or model from Bollywood, but they definitely know Aishwarya Rai. This supermodel turned actress has won the hearts of million in East and West. She started modeling at a very young age. She never took modeling seriously. Winning the Miss World competition in 1994 changed her life. Although she became a full time actress, she did not stop modeling. For more information about Aishwarya Rai you can check the following links:

Internet Movie Database

Lara Dutta:

Lara Dutta was offered roles in “Matrix Reloaded” and “Matrix Revolution” but she did not like the script. Born in April 1978, this Aries woman made her own destiny. Lara Dutta graduated in Economics from Bombay University. At the age of sixteen, she came to Mumbai from Bangalore and started modeling. She was a very successful ramp model. She first caught everyone’s attention winning the annual Gladrags competition in India. After this, she had a four year contract with L'Oreal, a reputed cosmetic company. In 1997, she competed in Miss Intercontinental and acquired first place. She also won the Femina Miss India Universe and Miss Universe in 2000. She did ad campaign for Synergie, Ceat, Coke and Sprite

Sushmita Sen:

It happened in 1994 Miss India contest. Aishwarya Rai, one of the most popular models, participated in the competition and every one was expecting her to win; but turning upside down all the anticipations and expectations, a girl with long legs took away the title making Aishwarya the first runner up in 1994. The girl was Susmita Sen and that competition created a nation wide controversy. Like Lara Dutta, Sushmita’s father was also in Airforce. She studied in Hindi medium school and did not know English very well. By eighteen, she established herself as a successful model and she was the first Indian women to won Miss Universe contest. The contest changed her luck. It brought her name, fame and money. After winning the competition, she got the following things:

Various promotional contracts

$250,000 in cash

Gifts and prizes

A diamond brooch with one hundred diamonds on 18 kt gold and platinum

Luxury apartments in USA

A sports car

Katrina Kaif:

Born in July 1983, daughter of a Kashmiri father and English mother, Katrina Kaif started modeling at the age of fourteen. At that time, she was living in Hawaii. She did an ad campaign for a Jewelry company. While working as a model in London, she got offer from an Indian director. This is how, Katrina walked into the glamour world of Bollywood. The movie did not do very well but Katrina got many modeling offers. So far, she did ad campaigns for Fevicol, Lakme cosmetics and Veet. Her incredible physique added with her innocent looks charmed millions of Indians. She has one big problem; she does not speak Hindi very well. So her voice had to be dubbed by others.

Dia Mirza:

At the age of eighteen, this beautiful 5'6" tall girl became the second runner up in Femina Miss India and won Miss Asia Pacific 2000. Dia has a very beautiful face, nice eyes, and a fair complexion. Like Katrina, she is a mixed breed; German father and Bengali mother. She did ad campaigns for Lipton, Emami. She also worked in several music videos.

Mehr Jessia:

Mehr Jessia was the queen of Indian modeling world. Born in 1969, this Persi woman won the Femina Miss India contest in 1986. For the next few years, she became the most popular face in ramp modeling. Happily married with Arjun Rampal, she is now running an ad agency named Face One. She did ad campaigns for Vimal, Bombay Dyeing, Palmolive, OCM and Nivea.

Madhu Sapre:

She was the winner of Miss India but could not win Miss Universe in 1992. She wanted to become an athletic but by chance became a model. Her specialty is her lips, cheek bones and a down to earth attitude. Madhu Sapre came from a Maharastrian family. She is now happily married to an Italian businessman Gian Maria Emendotori.

Diana Hayden:

When this twenty four year old Secunderabadi girl won Miss World 1997, it was a great day not only for her but also for India. Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, and now Diana Hayden; the whole world has fallen under the charm of Indian beauty. After her parents got divorced, she came to Bombay with her brother and mother. Before Miss World, she also won Miss India beauty contest. She used to work in an event management company in Bangalore. At that time, she did few fashion shows in Bangalore. This is how her modeling career started. Finally, she settled in Bombay and took modeling seriously.

Celina Jaitely:

Born on the same day as Natalie Portman, Celina’s grey eyes, fair complexion and innocent face made her one of the most popular models of India. The secret behind such killing beauty is her mixed breed; Afghani mother and Punjabi father. Celina is well educated and had a flying career in a famous telecom company. There, she generated the highest monthly sales. She became Miss India in 2001. She also made to the finals of Miss Universe 2001.

Yukta Mukhi:

She was the winner of “Miss World 99”. She is 5 feet 11 inches tall. A student of Zoology, Yukta studied classical music for three years and loves prawn with garlic sauce, Brad Pitt, and Jane Austen.

I am not surprised that Ash feaures in this list. She will feature in any list of beautiful women. her face is the most recognisable Indian face and has done yeoman service to project india in favourrable light. Her beauty sometimes put people off for some pecualiar resaon.

mmmm I dont agree with most of names in the list. Yukhta Mulky, Celina Jatley never really waled the ramp. They are all Miss Indias who have entered Bollywood and calling them Super Models is not correct.

Names like Deepika Pudokune, Ujwal Rautt etc should ahve gotten a mentione.

Dia Mirza hasnt walked the ramp either! Most of the women are 5 feet nothing and are just trying their luck in Bollywood after entering the Miss India contests.

Sorry for all the typos, I promise I know how to spell!

It is nice to see Ash in the list prominently featuring. She has brought favourable light on our women.

This is precisely the epidemic that has afflicted our society. Abolish all the beauty pageants and the incredibly stupid fashion ramp shows and the world will be a much better place to live in.
Most importantly, strip naked and shoot all these jobless idiots who make a big hue and cry about these utterly worthless events...

i have a question.
do most bollywood actors and actresses have blue/greenish eyes or do they wear colored contact lense. for example, aishywaria rai she has blue eyes, is that her real eye color? or is it colored contacts. Is it even possible for indians to have natural green/blueish eyes.
hope you can help me out on this!
thanks!

AT STEVE

It's very possible for Indians or any non-whites to have light eyes . That's pure BS that only white people can have light eyes. Most indians in general have dark eyes BUT some Indians do pop out with green/blue/hazel/grey eyes.

some bollywood celebrities do wear contacts for fashion but some like aishwarya have real light eyes.

well i think this is a totally biased list, coming from a person who lives in the states no one apart from desi ppl have even heard of ashwariya rai. believe it or not having a different eye color is not such a big deal in the rest of the world ppl.
i think all of these ladies are beautiful in their own right, especially the ones who are not trying to make themself look like western.

to correct some errors, dia mirza won miss india at age 20 not 18, whilst celina jaitley does not have grey eyes naturally, although fair skinned.

wat Celina Jaitely is half Afghan i cant believe that ..i never knew that before ..wowo cool i am full AFGHAN

Aishwarya Rai is a talented actress and model. She is beautful and hard
working. SHe has come a long way in life. Her

life story is amazing and interesting and inspiring
. She should go on more
and become more successful.

SALMAN KHAN.

I agree man. India was under the British alot. So that explains the light eye colors. Alot of rapes and abuses by whitey. Anyway you Indians need to get a life - trying to be white, using skin lightening creams and other stuff. The real white people laugh at you guys man. And we Sri Lankans also get stereotyped for your racial copycattism by whitey. So pleazzzze. tell your cream manufacturers to stop exporting that "fair and lovely" and "fair and handsome" rubbish.

Tsk..... Whatever happened to dark and handsome? Lol.

ghi,
i m aamir ali from pakistan

nice ladies

sri lankan guy what you said was probably true to a certain point but it does not matter cause there are probably more "black" americans that look fully white.

http://onedroprule.org/about1567.html

I really do find dark skin color more attractive than pale and just ugly unsightly white skin. The folks promoting white skin are a few fair skinned folks in India and elsewhere. The majority of India is dark or tanned skin. The majority needs to be represented and the "standard" of beauty not the few pale white skinned people like myself. I think dark skin is the most pretty skin color. While you idiots are trying to look White, the Europeans and Americans are busy trying to get a tan to look darker!!!Ha...this is indeed ironic and funny as hell!!! The few White British era Indians converted to Christianity thinking they are White and rejecting thir Indian culture are the ones promoting this racism and prejudice. I love my darken skinned people. Beautiful Dark skin women are the hottest on the planet. PS...to my Beautiful Dark skin women , i'm a single male living in the USA. gdutt11@yahoo.com

Sushmita surely is the most accomplished 'actress' from all the international pageant winners that have come to bollywood. Ofcourse she hasnt quite justified her talent.
In ram gopal verma ki aaj she plays the role of durga devi the widow, its a very strong quiet character and one cant think of many actresses today who can carry it off as well as she can. Infact i would go a step further to day sushmita is the most perfect character in ram gopal verma's version of sholay , all the other actors seem to to be misfits , perhaps mohanlal might be good if he can get rid of his strong mallu accent. when will the bar of skin color ever be lifted in democratic India and in "Bollywood"? The average Indian is more tanned then these look alike "white" Indian models/actresses. Darker skinned Indians who are 50% of the Indian population are passed over and overlook when they are just as pretty, handsome or beautiful. Will this ugly veil of Indian society ever be lifted?

HELLO EVERY ONE
