The UK based BT Global Services has send 2000 jobs to India. According to the report published in Business Standard:
“The company, which is the network and IT services arm of British Telecom Group Plc, is also scouting for acquisitions in India, which is believed to be in line with its earlier acquisitions in various countries.
"We have offshored 2,000 jobs from our single IT function to India, and we have reused those 2,000 people within our networked IT services business, providing solutions, thereby avoiding redundancy costs," BT Global Services chief executive officer Andy Green said in a message posted on the company's website.”
Green referred this offshoring move as one of the best reskilling, retraining programs in the company’s history.
The jobs will be sent to Tech Mahindra (TM), a joint venture between BT and Mahindra & Mahindra, the automobile giant and other IT service providers. However, the officials did not mention any thing about this matter.
Along with offshoring, BT Global is also planning for acquisition in India. The company officials think that India is a great business place with lots of opportunities and the company wants to utilize that opportunity.
