In this blog, I have written past about the life of common people in Bangladesh. Today, I am going to write about the tale of a coconut seller. Animesh Chandra Bain (my photographer) has taken the pictures of the coconut seller who sells green coconuts in the street of Dhaka.
Imam Ali is 43 years old and he comes from Pirojpur, a southern district of Bangladesh. He has four children and he and wife along with the four children live in Dhaka. He has to take care of a 6 member family and it is tough and expensive. However, he is a hard working person and he works almost everyday from 8 AM to 9 PM (almost 13 hours). In the morning, he comes to this place and sells green coconuts. Well, in Dhaka, water of green coconut is very popular during warm weather. Even during winter, sick patients drink this water. So, Imam Ali has no problem in getting customers. On an average, he sells 200-250 green coconuts everyday. From this, he has a decent income.

Imam Ali is a lucky man that he has a decent income and can afford to keep his wife and children with him in Dhaka. Of course, he is a very hard working man who works 13 hours a day for the happiness of his family.

In the coming days, I will try to cover the life of people of different professions from South Asia and Bangladesh.
