A missing teenage boy who many believe is the reincarnation of Buddha has reappeared in the jungles of southern
Ram Bahadur Banjan, 15, was last seen on March 11 in a forest where he had meditated for 10 months, allegedly without food and water. Thousands of Hindus and Buddhists flocked to see him every day.
Banjan disappeared from his meditating spot among the roots of a tree in Bara, about 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of the capital Kathmandu, where he had sat cross-legged and motionless with his eyes closed.
The boy was spotted by cattle herders in the jungle on Sunday and a team of police and officials was sent to investigate on Monday, said Harihar Dahal, an administrative official in the area.
Nepalese journalist Raju Shreshtha had the opportunity to talk with Bomjan. Bomjan told him that he had been wandering in the forest and his meditation will continue for six years. Before Bomjan disappeared, hundreds of people came to see him meditating. After spending such a long time in the forest, Bomjan has grown shoulder length hair. He had an ash-colored shawl and carried a sword for self-defense. After talking with him, Shreshta said that he did not believe that Bomjan was the reincarnation of Lord Buddha but he had some extra strength as he took herbs. However, many Nepalese believe that Ram Bahadur is the reincarnation of Lord Buddha and immune to snake bites.
By the time I am writing this post, more than one hundred articles have been published all around the world on this news. Whether Ram Bahadur is the reincarnation of Lord Buddha or not, I am not getting into this debate but

This is the first I have heard of this story. One thing I am not clear on...does the boy say that he is the Buddha or is that only said by the followers?
