B4U movies acquired global screening rights of Nishabd, Guru and Umrao Jaan

B4U movie channel has acquired global screening rights of three Bollywood movies including Nishabd. The channel has acquired the screening rights of Guru, Nishabd, and Umrao Jaan. Both in Guru and Umrao Jaan, the male and female lead were played by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Guru, directed by Mani Ratnam, is Abhishek Bachchan’s first solo hit movie. Both these movies did phenomenal business around the world. So it is a big achievement for B4U television network. I am quoting from the report published in Bollyvista.com:

2007 has begun with a bang at B4U as the network has bought the global exclusive screening rights to three blockbusters- ‘Guru’, ‘Umrao Jaan’ and the yet to be released ‘Nishbad’.

The acquiring of rights for movies such as 'Guru' and 'Umrao Jaan' has even more significance as the leading pair in both movies – Abhishek and Aishwarya got engaged last week and are scheduled to tie the knot next month. What's more, Abhishek's superlative performance in Mani Ratnam's ‘Guru’ has won him accolades from his critics, while Aishwarya on the other hand gives one her most memorable performances to date in J.P. Dutta's 'Umrao Jaan'.

'Nishbad 'draws on Vladimir Nakabov's novel "Lolita", about a 60-year-old man's romance with an 18-year-old girl and stars Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan, who grew up in London.

B4U television network started in 1999 with B4U Music and B4U Movies in UK. Because of its growing popularity the channel expanded its operation in India, UAE, and USA in 2000. Today, it is the one of the top music channels in UK, operating in more than 100 countries around the world.
