Bangladesh is often portrayed in the International media as one of the poorest countries in the world. In fact, Bangladesh frequently comes to the headlines of international media for natural disasters and political unrest. We hardly find any positive news about the economy of the country. Many people in the west are perhaps unaware that Bangladesh has a vibrant economy and there are many companies in the private sector. So, I was extremely happy today while visiting Corporate Bazaar 2007, a three day long fair about large companies in Dhaka. I spent couple of hours in the fair and visited most of the stalls and talked to some people.

I must admit that I was quite impressed with the arrangement of Corporate Bazaar 2007. Many large companies of Bangladesh had their stalls in the fair. About Corporate Bazaar 2007, its website wrote:

Special emphasis was given in Corporate Bazaar 2007 to highlight the ready made garments (RMG) sector. All the participating companies gave special offers for their products and services. Tomorrow is the last day of Corporate Bazaar 2007.
