I have been working as a freelance writer in Bangladesh for over 10 years. While covering many seminars, conferences and fairs, I often felt the need of quality support for the media. I myself have worked as media co-coordinator and media consultant for a number of IT fairs in Bangladesh. So, I always take a keen interest in the way organizers give support to media. One of the basic things that organizers of events in South Asian countries neglect is to create a rich website about the event. I would not say that the website about Corporate Bazaar 2007 is very rich but it is not bad either. I would like to see more content about Bangladesh and about the participating companies.

However, I was happy to see that a media team was providing support for the journalists covering the event. I was provided with all the information and pictures that I needed for covering the event.
About Corporate Bazaar 2007, I talked to Md. Tanjirul Basher of Bangladeshinfo.com. He was the person in charge of media support of Corporate Bazaar 2007. He stated that because of the effort of the media team, Corporate Bazaar 2007 has received good response from the media in Bangladesh. He informed me that most of the Bangladeshi TV channels and leading dailies had given good coverage to the event.

There is something to learn from this matter. Many businessmen in South Asia think that to get media coverage they need to spend a huge amount of money after advertisements. I am not saying that you do not need to go for advertisements in the newspapers and TV channels. However, I like to say that if you spend some time and effort on helping the reporters who cover your field then you will surely get more coverage in the media.
