I love World Cups be it football or cricket. I love to watch the matches and I love to write about them and increase the traffic of my blogs. World Cup Football 2006 provided a huge boost to my blogging career and brought me a lot of traffic and links. Now, ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 is knocking on the door. Just after one month, the biggest cricket tournament in the world will take place in the West Indies. Millions of people in South Asia will do nothing but watch cricket and pray for their national teams.
Actually, South Asia is now the Mecca of World Cricket. We have four countries with both Test and One Day status: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Except Bangladesh, all the other 3 South Asian Countries have won World Cup Cricket title once. So, it is needless to say that South Asian people are crazy for Cricket. Cricket is like a religion in India. Pakistanis only love one game- Cricket. Bangladeshis love to celebrate in the streets whenever their national team has any success. Cricket is perhaps the best unifying factor in civil war torn Sri Lanka.

This is a blog about South Asia and we (the people of South Asia) are most passionate about Cricket. To us, Cricket is not a game but more the best source of entertainment and passion. So, you can except SouthAsiaBiz to be with you in covering ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 for the next 10 weeks. Mehdi and I will try our level best to cover every aspect of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007- of course with a special emphasis on the business aspect of World Cup 2007 (as it is a business blog). Just visit us everyday and keep your comments coming and let us know what you like to see in this blog. By the way, I have another blog too about Indian business- IndianRaj. Do visit IndianRaj too as I am going to post a number of entries about World Cup Cricket there.
There is huge population in South Asia and the favourite sport of poeple there is cricket. So there are maximum number of cricket fans in South Asian countries.
