In the beginning, neither Aishwarya Rai nor Abhishek Bachchan talked about their romance in public. Rumors of their marriage started to spread as Amitabh Bachchan’s young brother, Ajitabh Bachchan went to an astrologer, Chandrashekhar Swami in Bangalore with their horoscopes in January 2006. The astrologer said that their match is alright and the sooner they get married, the better. Later in October, the astrologer said that the two would get married in 2007.

In 2006, Ash Abhishek relationship was ripened. They signed movies together. On Abhishek’s birthday in February 2006, Aishwarya and Abhishek danced all evening.
