The veteran wicket keeper of Australian cricket team, Adam Gilchrist has said that the upcoming World Cup Cricket 2007 would be the last world cup in his career but he still wants to serve
The Sydney Morning Herald reported:
Yeah, I tapered off. It's always frustrating when you don't get the results you want," said Gilchrist, who started the tri-series with scores of 60 and 61 then failed to reach 30 in eight more stints.
"I will always be a chance of getting out early, such is the way I play.
"I haven't thought of finishing after this. It's definitely my last World Cup, so if we want to start going along those lines, I can confirm that now."
"That's the way I feel at the moment, yeah," Gilchrist said.
Gilchrist is 10 Tests short of a century and only 14 dismissals shy of former Australian gloveman Ian Healy's Test world record of 395.

His performance in the last some of the series was not impressive and that is why, there is some speculation about his retirment. This legendary cricketer has more than eight thousand ODI and more than six thousand Test runs in his career. This stat alone shows his class. He is perhaps the greatest wicketkeeper batsman of all time. He has still something to show and I would love to see him shine in World Cup Cricket 2007.

Gilli is still the best wicket keeper in the world and I want to see him playing more international matches. He will be an important player for Australia in the world cup.
