She is one of the most beautiful women in the world and the highest paid Bollywood actress but in terms of finding a life partner, she is the most unfortunate woman in India. She has gone through two turbulent relationships before settling down with Abhishek Bachchan. Her affair with actor Salman Khan took a heavy mental toll. Vivek Oberoi treated her more like a trophy than a girl friend. Finally, she got someone with whom she could really settle down with; Abhishek Bachchan, but things did not turn out very well. To make things worse, a lawyer, Shruti Singh, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Patna High Court against Aishwarya Rai for performing the ritual . According to Shruti Singh, such ritual shows that the issue of untouchability still prevails in Hindu society which is a violation of human rights.
Amitabh Bachchan, father of Abhishek Bachchan, has denied the incident of Aishwarya’s marrying a tree to exorcise curse. I am quoting from the report published in Gulf Daily News
Bollywood superstar AMITABH BACHCHAN has denied reports that his family performed Hindu religious ceremonies to lift a curse from Bollywood actress AISHWARYA RAI who is engaged to marry his son.
"Nothing like this ever took place," the actor said, calling the widespread media accounts of the ceremonies "intrusive and insensitive."
According to the report published in Apun Ka Choice, when Amitabh Bachchan was asked why he did not give any statement earlier, he replied that he had acted and he was doing just fine.
Till now, so many rumors have spread that it is very difficult to say which one is true and which is not. If such incident has really taken place then it is very disappointing. I hope Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan get married soon and live happily ever after.
