A cricket buff in Rajasthan was so mortified by India's defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the cricket World Cup that he tonsured his head.

Om Prakash Paridwal of the Indira Gandhi Nagar neighbourhood in Kota, over 250km from here, publicly shaved off his head on Sunday. Having tonsured his head, he painted the tricolour on his face. “I was shocked. But I still feel that India can win the Cup if they play united. It seems no one is united in the team," Paridwal said yesterday.

I live in Bangladesh and though I admit that I feel very good as our team has own I equally feel bad for these people. They just take the game so seriously. It is not that India and Bangladesh are playing for the first time. Earlier, India also beat Bangladesh but no Bangladeshi committed suicide or tonsured his/her head. The Bangladeshi team performed well and they won. There will be many more games in future between Bangladesh and India and India can win or lose but will it be a good thing to take the games so seriously? I do not think so.
